Dr Adel Beshara is a researcher in Middle Eastern affairs, particularly nationalism, national thought and military politics. His publications include Syrian Nationalism: An Inquiry into the Political thought of Antun Sa'adeh, Beirut: Bissan Publications, 1995; Politics of Frustration: The Failed Coup of 1961 (London: Routledge, 2005; and forthcoming Antun Sa'adeh: The Man, his Thought, (London: Garnet and Ithaca Press).
